Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a huge part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing the best customer experience, ensuring that fellow fans can get their hands on the merch they love. You’ll use your fandom knowledge to help train new recruits and ensure their success, and also support the management team in daily operations and meeting sales targets.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide an amazing shopping experience that will encourage customers to return. They’ll be impressed by your product knowledge, customer experience skills, and enthusiasm for music and pop culture.
• Support store operations by stepping in and providing leadership support when needed, including covering the sales floor and assisting the management team.
• Handle store opening and closing procedures responsibly.
• Operate the register, process sales transactions, and use your fandom knowledge to promote add-on sales and benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup. Also, communicate shortages or overages to your Store Manager.
• Understand store sales goals, KPIs such as UPT and ADT, and contribute to achieving them.
• Assist with planogram updates, including store layout, wall displays, fixtures, and merchandising mix.
• Communicate fashion and music trend information to management and HQ partners.
• Work with Store Management to prevent theft and misuse of spells and wizardry.
• Support the maintenance of the stockroom and keep the store tidy and organized.
• Help develop and retain a passionate, collaborative team to run your store effectively.
• Perform any other activities assigned by your Store Leader.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• At least 1 year of retail store experience. A love for music and pop culture is a big plus!
• Strong communication, time management, professionalism, operational skills, and a drive to develop your team.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• The ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using approved equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds when unpacking shipments.
