Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a key part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an exceptional customer experience, ensuring fans can access their favorite merchandise. You’ll leverage your fandom knowledge to train new recruits, support daily operations, and help meet sales targets.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages repeat visits, showcasing your product knowledge and customer service skills.
  • Step up and support when needed, covering sales floor duties and assisting leadership in their responsibilities.
  • Handle opening and closing procedures, ensuring store security and readiness.
  • Operate the register, process transactions, and use your fandom expertise to promote additional sales through benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup. Also, communicate shortages or overages to the Store Manager.
  • Understand store sales goals, KPIs such as UPT and ADT, and contribute to achieving them.
  • Assist with planogram updates, including store layout, wall displays, fixtures, and merchandising.
  • Share insights on fashion and music trends with management and HQ partners.
  • Work with Store Management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
  • Support stockroom organization and store cleanliness.
  • Contribute to building a collaborative and passionate team to run the store effectively.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by your Store Leader.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • At least 1 year of retail experience, ideally with a passion for music and pop culture.
  • Strong skills in communication, time management, professionalism, and team development.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • The ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using store equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
