Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a significant part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an excellent customer experience, ensuring that fellow fans can access the merchandise they love. You’ll leverage your fandom knowledge to assist in training new recruits and support daily store operations and sales goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty through product knowledge and excellent service.
• Step in and support when needed, covering sales floor duties and assisting leadership during absences.
• Open and close the store as required, demonstrating responsibility and trustworthiness.
• Operate the register efficiently, process transactions, and utilize your fandom expertise to promote add-on sales and benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup. Ensure proper register closeouts and communicate shortages or overages to the Store Manager.
• Understand and contribute to store sales plans, goals, and key performance indicators such as UPT and ADT.
• Assist with planogram updates, including store layout, wall displays, fixtures, and merchandising mix.
• Communicate fashion and music trend information to management and HQ partners, sharing insights from your fandom.
• Work with Store Management to prevent theft and misuse of store assets, including any magical spells or wizardry.
• Support store maintenance by keeping the stock room organized and the store tidy.
• Help build and retain a passionate, collaborative team to run the store effectively.
• Perform any other activities assigned by your Store Leader.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• At least 1 year of retail experience, with a passion for music and pop culture.
• Strong skills in communication, time management, professionalism, and operational tasks, with a drive to develop your team.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using store equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
