Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a key part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an excellent customer experience, helping fans find the merchandise they love. You’ll leverage your fandom knowledge to train new recruits and support daily operations and sales goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty, showcasing your product knowledge and customer service skills.
• Step in and support when needed, covering sales floor duties and assisting leadership in their tasks.
• Open and close the store as required, taking responsibility for store keys and security.
• Operate the register, process transactions, and use your fandom expertise to promote add-on sales and benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup. Also, handle register closing and communicate shortages or overages to management.
• Understand and contribute to store sales plans, including KPIs such as UPT and ADT.
• Assist with planogram updates, store layout, and merchandising strategies.
• Share fashion and music trend insights with management and HQ partners.
• Work with store management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
• Maintain organized stockroom and store cleanliness.
• Help develop a passionate, collaborative team to run the store effectively.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your Store Leader.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• At least 1 year of retail experience; passion for music and pop culture is a plus!
• Strong communication, time management, professionalism, and leadership skills.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay rate: $16.85 - $19.40 per hour. Final salary depends on education, experience, location, and other factors.
