Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a key part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an exceptional customer experience, ensuring that fellow fans can access the merchandise they love. You’ll leverage your fandom knowledge to train new recruits and support daily operations and sales goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty through product knowledge and excellent service.
• Step in and support store operations as needed, including covering the sales floor and assisting the management team.
• Open and close the store, ensuring security and readiness for daily operations.
• Operate the register, process transactions, and use your fandom expertise to promote additional sales through benefits such as BOPIS and curbside pickup. Also, handle register closeouts and communicate shortages or overages to the Store Manager.
• Understand store sales plans, goals, and key KPIs like UPT and ADT.
• Assist with planogram updates, including store layout, wall displays, fixtures, and merchandising.
• Communicate fashion and music trend information to management and HQ partners.
• Work with store management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
• Support maintaining an organized stock room and a tidy store environment.
• Help develop and retain a passionate, collaborative team to run the store effectively.
• Perform other activities as assigned by the Store Leader.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• At least 1 year of retail experience; a love for music and pop culture is a plus!
• Strong communication, time management, professionalism, operational skills, and a drive to mentor others.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• The ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using store equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
