Qualifications

• Required: Valid Iowa Coaching Endorsement or Coaching Authorization
• Required: Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
• Required: Coaching and/or leadership experience

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach in operating the athletic program
• Instruct players on rules, equipment and techniques
• Ensure compliance with district/state regulations governing the athletic program
• Provide supervision of athletes at all times
• Participate in team prospect meetings and recruit potential athletes
• Maintain eligibility forms and equipment inventory
• Monitor academic performance to meet eligibility requirements
• Model sportsmanship and appropriate conduct towards players, officials and spectators
• Participate in events like parent nights, banquets and pep assemblies
• Follow district policies and maintain nondiscriminatory practices
• Attend staff development and coaching clinics to improve performance
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Head Coach
