Job summary

New York Edge, the largest provider of after-school and summer programs in New York City public schools, seeks a Part-Time Assistant Director for Queens. In this in-person role, you will assist in the overall administration of the after-school program and supervise staff while coordinating enrichment activities and events.

The candidate must be fluent in English and Spanish, hold a Bachelor's degree or be near completion, and bring experience with youth programs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee academic counselors and academic component of the program.
• Create and schedule alternative activities to complement homework sessions.
• Ensure daily alignment of homework with learning standards.
• Plan and supervise off-site trips; ensure student safety.
• Encourage projects fostering academic, cultural, and artistic growth.
• Provide coverage for activity specialists as needed.
• Promote teamwork, fair play, and youth behavior management.
• Communicate progress and challenges with the After-School Program Director.
• Ensure compliance with DYCD, DOE, DOHMH regulations and timelines.
