Job summary

Northwestern Regional Schools is seeking a part-time armed security officer to support safety and security during afternoons and evenings at Northwestern Regional Schools.

Position requires a CT pistol permit, HR 218 qualification, and graduate from POST or a state police academy. Ten-month year, ~20 hours per week; pay is $30/hour. Training and uniform provisions apply; weekend/evening coverage may be needed.

Qualifications

• Retired law enforcement officer with 10–15 years of service or more.
• Current State of Connecticut Pistol Permit and HR 218 qualification required.
• Must possess a CT Driver's License.
• Graduate of an approved Police Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) or State Police Academy.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and security during after-school and evening events (approx. 20 hours/week).
• Wear Northwest Region 7 attire and carry personal firearm approved under HR 218.
• Coordinate with district security and respond to security incidents as needed.
• Attend mandatory training sessions as required by the district.
