Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical. is seeking a Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist to support our Suffolk, Virginia operations.

The role focuses on processing invoices, reconciling statements, and maintaining cost records in accordance with company policy. The successful candidate will manage job costs, overhead expenses, and discounts while ensuring accurate expense reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software is required, with Spectrum experience preferred but

Qualifications

• Understanding of job costs and expense reports.
• Knowledge of basic subcontract processing and receiving.
• Ability to read, spell, write and compute basic math
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.) and general accounting software
• Strong computer skills
• Spectrum accounting software experience preferred but not required.
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Processes job cost related invoices against purchase orders
• Maintains accurate records of overhead expenses and invoice exceptions per company policies and procedures
• Computes and records interest charges, refunds, and similar items
• Reconciles account statements.
• Ensures consistent application of company accounts payable policies and related finance policies
