Job summary

Southwest Airlines seeks an Operations Agent to join the Ground Operations team in Florida. You will help flights take off safely and on time by assisting with boarding, weight and balance checks, and coordinating with Ramp, Operations, Provisioning and servicing aircraft to ensure on-time departures.

New hires undergo 4–6 weeks of training; schedules are seniority-based and may include overtime. U.S. citizenship or work authorization in the U.S. is required.

Qualifications

• Must be GSC qualified.
• Must comply with DOT drug and alcohol testing program.
• Ability to read documents, follow instructions, and learn ramp procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provides friendly service to customers and maintains positive relationships.
• Ensures on-time departures by coordinating Ramp, Operations, Provisioning and servicing aircraft.
• Operates boarding bridge and coordinates boarding/deplaning of customers.
• Prepares weight and balance forms and weather reports for crews.
• Manages baggage checks and uses radio communications for updates.
• Maintains aircraft cleanliness and provisioning prior to departure.
