Job summary

Penobscot Bay YMCA is hiring part-time Afterschool Program staff for Camden-Rockport Elementary School and Knox County locations. Schedule is 2:00 PM–5:30 PM on weekdays after school.

The role offers meaningful work serving local kids and requires individuals who are dependable, positive, and enthusiastic about working with children. No extensive childcare experience is required; training is provided, and CPR/First Aid/AED and Child Abuse Prevention certifications are required within 30 days of

Qualifications

• No prior childcare experience required; training provided.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications required within 30 days of hire.
• At least 16 years old; dependable, positive, team player.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for children.
• Lead and participate in games, arts and crafts, STEM projects, recreation, and other engaging activities.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and teammates.
• Support daily routines, snack service, cleanup, and program transitions.
• Help children develop confidence, friendships, independence, and new skills.
• Follow YMCA policies and state and local health and safety requirements.
