Job summary

The YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina is hiring part-time Afterschool Program Staff to help children in the afternoons. Shifts are 2:00–6:30 PM, Monday–Friday at multiple sites; pay ranges from $13.72 to $15.12 per hour. No late nights or weekend shifts, and great for students or anyone seeking meaningful afternoon work.

You will lead games, support safe, welcoming environments, and document activities. CPR/First Aid within 30 days; HS diploma required; prior childcare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; one year or more of college preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to supervise and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience with children and families is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and supervise school-aged children in a safe, supportive environment.
• Lead games, activities, and crafts as part of the YMCA curriculum.
• Maintain attendance, behavior, and safety records.
• Communicate with parents about activities and progress.
• Support a positive, inclusive program climate.
