Job summary

Rocky Mount Family Ymca Inc. seeks a part-time Before/After School Counselor to support Youth & Family programming in a community YMCA setting.

You will supervise school-age participants, model respectful behavior, and help implement daily activities aligned with the Y’s values. The role requires at least 1 year of relevant program experience, strong customer service and organizational skills, and certification in CPR/AED and First Aid within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year in a program/childcare setting.
• Demonstrated ability to provide and role model quality customer service.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage behavior of an assigned group of students.
• Maintain accurate attendance and records as assigned.
• Plan, prepare, and clean up supplies for daily activities.
• Lead organized games, swimming, teambuilding, and arts activities.
• Follow North Carolina childcare licensing standards.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled and communicate issues promptly.
