Job summary

AoPS Academy in San Mateo, CA is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Math Instructor to join our afterschool program. You will teach advanced math using our curriculum to small classes in the evenings and on weekends.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree, strong math content knowledge, and prior teaching or tutoring experience. No formal teaching credential is required, and a positive, student-centered approach is valued.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related or educational field is strongly preferred.
• Strong content knowledge in math.
• Experience teaching or tutoring students.

Responsibilities

• Teach Engaging Curriculum: Use company-created curriculum and materials to lead small math classes.
• Engage Students: Actively involve students in class or student-led learning.
• Classroom Management: Manage up to 16 students effectively.
• Grade & Provide Feedback: Provide feedback on tests and assignments.
• Build Relationships: Connect with students and families to support learning journeys.
• Inspire Learning: Foster a love for learning and critical thinking in math.
