Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Afterschool Facilitator for Grades 1–6 at Hennigan Elementary in Boston, MA. This part-time role (approximately 17 hours/week) supports homework, enrichment, recreation, and youth development under the Afterschool Director.

Responsibilities include supervising students, fostering inclusive participation, preparing materials, and assisting with attendance and reporting. Requires 18+ years, a HS diploma or GED, and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Minimum age: 18 years.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience working with children or youth in educational, recreational, camp, afterschool, or other youth-serving settings.
• Current authorization to work in the United States. Authorization by first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Afterschool Facilitator in delivering engaging daily programming, including homework support, enrichment, recreation, and youth development activities.
• Provide active supervision to ensure student safety during all program activities, transitions, and dismissal.
• Help create welcoming and inclusive environment for multilingual learners and students with disabilities.
• Build positive relationships with students and support positive behavior through encouragement and consistent expectations.
• Support with attendance, program documentation, and reporting; maintain program spaces.
