Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 2 years of experience with young children is required.
• Formal assessments (ParaPro or ACT WorkKeys) may satisfy education requirement.
• Two years of experience and eligibility to work in the U.S. are required.

Responsibilities

• Implements curriculum and developmentally appropriate enrichment activities provided by the Boston Public Schools Department of Early Childhood.
• Provides active supervision during all program activities and daily routines.
• Promotes children's health, safety, and personal hygiene.
• Supports participation of all children, including those with disabilities.
• Adheres to BPS policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
• Maintains a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.
• Collaborates with afterschool Facilitators, school staff, and families.
• Participates in orientation, staff meetings, and training.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Nine (9) + credit hours of college coursework in early childhood education or related field

Forty-eight (48) credit hours of college coursework or an Associate’s Degree

ParaPro Assessment or ACT WorkKeys Certificate of Proficiency for Teacher Assistants

Minimum of two years of experience working with young children

Current authorization to work in the United States
