Job summary

Ymca-of-Frederick-County is seeking a part-time Youth Program Assistant to supervise children at a school site before/after school and in summer programs. You will help deliver high-quality activities, ensure safety, and foster a welcoming, nurturing environment aligned with YMCA values.

Responsibilities include coordinating arts, STEM, literacy, and wellness activities, communicating with parents, and supporting site staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must complete 3-clock hour orientation within 6 months of hire which includes proper supervision and interacting with parents.
• Demonstrates strong work ethic and character to uphold YMCA values and organizational accountability.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality programming compliant with MSDE guidelines and provide a safe, welcoming environment for participants and staff.
• Be an active participant in all activities and lead specific activities as directed by supervisor.
• Maintain safety by following the discipline policy and YMCA Code of Conduct.
• Communicate with parents about positive aspects of the day and address behavior issues.
• Assist Site Director with administrative duties and family events; participate in at least one YMCA event per year.
