Job summary

LearningWorks is seeking an After School Teaching Assistant to support elementary students in the LearningWorks Afterschool program. You will help deliver engaging activities, provide one-on-one support, and work with teachers and site coordinators to meet student needs.

This part-time role runs Sept–May at multiple Southern Maine locations. Ideal candidates have experience with youth, strong communication, and comfort using Outlook, Google Drive, Zoom, and other educational tech.

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth; elementary-aged students preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
• Experience using technology, including Microsoft Outlook, Google Drive Suite, Zoom, and other educational technology platforms.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging academic instruction and enrichment activities that reinforce school-day learning
• Provide small-group and one-on-one academic support
• Work collaboratively with Teachers, Site Coordinators, and school staff to meet individual student needs
• Observe student progress and communicate success and concerns with Teachers and Teaching Site Coordinators
• Participate in weekly team meetings, staff trainings, and professional development opportunities
