Job summary

The YMCA is seeking an Out of School Time Assistant Group Leader for the Peabody, MA after-school program. This part-time role serves children aged 5–13, helping to develop, organize and implement high-quality programming in a safe, engaging environment.

Must be at least 16 years old and ready to support homework, STEAM activities and positive behavior guidance while adhering to EEC regulations and YMCA policies. Monday–Friday availability is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• CPR and First Aid certified. Certification opportunities available through the YMCA.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe environment for all children within the program.
• Implement STEAM based curriculum daily and support learning.
• Assist youth with homework/academic support.
• Adhere to EEC regulations and YMCA policies.
• Provide activities that foster creativity and awareness of cultural, educational, recreational and social issues.
• Maintain attendance records and monitor children’s needs.
• Supervise transitions and ensure age-appropriate behavior.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
• Commit to Monday-Friday schedule.
