Job summary

Sewickley Academy in Edgeworth, PA is seeking a part-time Assistant for the After School Program, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, to supervise students in Grades 1-5 and help ensure continuity of programming.

The role includes equipment checks, assisting the Director with lesson planning and evaluation, and collaborating with team members to maintain a safe, respectful environment. Sign-in/out and behavioral observations are part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Experience with young children in childcare or educational settings.
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Check the program's equipment and make sure it is adequate before the program starts.
• Treat all children with dignity and respect.
• Assist the Director in lesson planning, implementation, and evaluation of the After School Program.
• Work with other team members as needed.
• Ensure all children are signed in and out each day.
• Maintain a professional attitude at all times.
• Supervise all activities to ensure safety at all times.
• Report to Director with any problem which may occur with the children.
• Observe, record, and report on the behavior of individual children as assigned.
