Job summary

Sewickley Academy is seeking a part-time Assistant for the after-school program, running from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Assistant will supervise students in Grades 1-5 and help ensure continuity and quality of programming.

Responsibilities include equipment checks, respectful interaction, collaboration with the Director on planning and evaluation, and ensuring daily signin/outs while maintaining safety and professionalism throughout activities.

Qualifications

• Experience with young children in childcare or educational settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Check the program's equipment and ensure it is adequate before the program starts.
• Treat all children with dignity and respect.
• Assist the Director in lesson planning, implementation, and evaluation of the After School Program.
• Work with other team members as needed.
• Ensure all children are signed in and out each day.
• Maintain a professional attitude at all times.
• Supervise all activities to ensure safety at all times.
• Report to Director with any problem with the children.
• Observe, record, and report on the behavior of individual children as assigned.
