Job summary

The Child Center of NY is seeking part-time Group Leaders for our Flushing, Queens programs. These roles start in September for the school year and support homework help, activities, and curriculum planning.

You will help supervise children, maintain attendance, and assist tutors while contributing to a safe, engaging learning environment after school hours. Pay is $18.00 per hour with a commitment Monday–Friday 1:30 PM–6:00 PM.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Content-specific experience (e.g., sports, arts, literacy).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience working with children.
• Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
• Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Set goals for program participants and facilitate activities.
• Prepare curriculum and lesson plans.
• Maintain a safe and learning environment for participants.
• Provide homework help and supervise children in after-school programs.
• Supervise and monitor attendance and behavior; document accordingly.
• Attend program meetings.
