Job summary

Right At School in Oak Park, IL is seeking an Educator to lead after-school activities, provide a structured, safe environment, and build relationships with students. You’ll gain experience in education and child development while making a real difference in your community.

Program hours are Monday–Friday, 3:00–6:00 PM (Wednesdays start at 2:30 PM). Pay rate ranges from $17.00 to $20.00 per hour, based on education and experience, with on-site work at school locations.

Qualifications

• Experience with children under 13 preferred.
• Ability to lead groups and manage activities.
• Strong customer service and communication with kids and adults.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work a consistent part-time schedule.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and perform daily movement.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to support multiple program locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students and take attendance.
• Plan and lead daily activities and enrichment lessons.
• Assist with homework time and academic tasks.
• Supervise during free play and transitions with safety.
• Address minor behavior issues with positive guidance.
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up/drop-off.
• Report incidents to the site lead and log records.
• Set up and clean up the program space daily.
• Attend brief daily team meetings.
