Associated Recreation Council (ARC) is hiring a School-Age Care Counselor to guide and support a classroom of children ages 5-12 by providing active supervision and developmentally appropriate activities in after-school programs across Seattle community centers.

Responsibilities include leading daily curriculum activities, modeling positive behavior, maintaining safe 1:10 ratios, and collaborating with ARC staff and the School-Age Care Director.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a high school diploma or other secondary education.
• MMR vaccination record, tuberculosis (TB) testing, MERIT Portable Background Check, and Washington State Food Worker Card required after being hired as required by the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF).

Responsabilités

• Assists and leads in the application of daily curriculum activities with a classroom of children ages 5-12 years old.
• Models appropriate behavior and provides opportunities for social and emotional growth.
• Helps ensure a ratio of 1:10 (staff to children) is maintained as much as possible to ensure that children are safe and always accounted for.
• Collaborates with and supports fellow School-Age Care staff and receives guidance, coaching, and direction from the ARC School-Age Care Director.
