Job summary

AoPS Academy in New York City seeks a Part-Time Math Instructor to inspire advanced students with the AoPS curriculum. The role is in-person on the Upper West Side, with after-school hours and weekend options for the 2026-2027 year.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree (STEM or education preferred), strong math knowledge, and prior teaching or tutoring experience. A passion for student-centered, collaborative learning is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related or educational field is strongly preferred.
• Strong content knowledge in math.
• Experience teaching or tutoring students.
• Classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach engaging curriculum using company-created materials for advanced students.
• Engage students and foster student-led learning in small classes.
• Manage classrooms with up to 16 students.
• Grade tests and provide feedback to students.
• Build relationships with students and families to support learning.
• Inspire a love for learning and critical thinking in math.
