Job summary

San Jacinto College seeks a PT Admissions Advisor to guide new FTIC and transfer students through the entire onboarding journey, including applications, testing, residency verification, meningitis compliance, and orientation. The role supports students in early career, financial, and academic planning and coordinates with various campus offices for a smooth enrollment process.

The advisor will manage a caseload, provide proactive advising, and ensure accurate admissions records while upholding

Qualifications

Knowledge of admissions processes and requirements.
Knowledge of TSIA and academic requirements.
Knowledge of FERPA rules and release of student information.
Ability to maintain accurate records of interactions with students.
Strong communication and proofreading skills.

Responsibilities

Initiate and maintain regular contact with advisees and manage a caseload through the application process to registration.
Advise prospective students and families on admissions steps, testing, orientation, transcripts, and FAFSA.
Enter immunization records, transcripts, residency updates, and test scores to update admissions status.
Refer students to appropriate staff for disability services, counseling, international student services, financial aid, tutoring, etc.
Collaborate with other advisors and campus offices; stay updated on admissions policies and deadlines.
Handle changes in policies and procedures and work in a fast-paced environment.
