Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers is seeking a part-time Admissions Support Specialist for Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute. The role spans evening, overnight, and weekend shifts, focusing on bed management, patient admission, and data entry in the hospital system.

The position requires healthcare setting experience, strong data entry skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. It offers state government employment with a comprehensive benefits package, though this hourly role is not eligible

Qualifications

Healthcare experience in patient registration or customer service.
Significant data entry experience required.
Experience with filing systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel required.

Responsibilities

Assist with bed management, patient admission, and data entry into the Patient Information Management System; update census and generate reports.
Pull individuals from waitlists for a state psychiatric hospital bed and coordinate with community partners for required documentation.
Maintain timely communication with physicians, nurses, and CSB staff; ensure organization and multi-tasking in a 24/7 Admissions Department.
