Salary Range Starting At: $ 14.00 /per hour
Job Description:

As the Administrative Assistant you will perform a variety of secretarial duties, administrative tasks, statistical reporting, coordinate volunteers, property use and upkeep ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.

  • Provide administrative support to the Corps Officer
  • Answer phones, emails, and general correspondence
  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and maintain calendars
  • Prepare letters, reports, forms, and meeting materials.
  • Maintain organized electronic and paper files
  • Assist with data entry, recordkeeping, and program documentation
  • Support volunteer, Advisory Board, and community-partner communications

Minimum Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of administrative, clerical, or office support experience preferred
  • Experience providing receptionist/customer service and working with the public
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, email, data entry, electronic records, and general office equipment
  • Experience handling cash, deposits, invoices, and basic financial documentation preferred
  • Experience maintaining confidential personnel, client, and organizational records
  • Experience preparing correspondence, reports, meeting agendas, and minutes
  • Ability to organize multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work independently with limited supervision
  • Professional experience working with volunteers, families, community partners, or nonprofit programs preferred
  • Familiarity with church, nonprofit, social-service, or community-based organizations is a plus
Certifications:

Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver’s qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 30 days of employment.

Skills/Abilities:
  • Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Volunteers sign in

Physical Requirements Include:
  • Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity
  • Lifting, pulling, and pushing of materials up to 20 pounds
  • May require bending, squatting, walking.
  • May require standing for extended
Travel:

As needed, but minimal for conferences

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in an office environment; May require minimal evening and/or weekend work.
