Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical, in Suffolk, VA, is seeking a Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. You will process job-cost invoices, maintain records, and ensure AP policies are followed.

Ideal candidates have strong Excel skills, familiarity with basic subcontract processing, and the ability to compute and reconcile account statements. This role supports operations across our national footprint and requires US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Understanding of job costs and expense reports.
• Knowledge of basic subcontract processing and receiving.
• Ability to read, spell, write and compute basic math
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.) and general accounting software
• Strong computer skills
• Spectrum accounting software experience preferred but not required.
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Processes job cost related invoices against purchase orders
• Maintains accurate records of overhead expenses and invoice exceptions per company policies and procedures
• Computes and records interest charges, refunds, and similar items
• Reconciles account statements.
• Ensures consistent application of company accounts payable policies and related finance policies
