Vermont Smoke & Cure is seeking a detail-driven Accounts Payable Specialist to ensure vendor obligations are accounted for correctly, paid on time, and processed in line with sound financial controls.

Primarily focused on accounts payable, you’ll play a key role in maintaining reliable financial records and supporting month-end and year-end close, particularly AP and related areas like accruals and prepaids.

Competenze

• Associate degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A bachelor's degree is welcome but not required.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on AP/AR.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems.

Mansioni

• Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment requests in accordance with company policies.
• Verify invoice accuracy, obtain proper approvals, and ensure appropriate documentation.
• Manage vendor statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate vendor records and W-9 documentation.
• Process weekly payment runs and manage payment schedules.
• Reconcile and vouch company credit cards.
• Respond to vendor inquiries, reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end closing processes related to AP, accruals and prepaids.
• Maintain payable files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and GAAP.
• Assist with transactional processing, data entry, and general ledger posting.
• Reconcile general ledger balances tied to accounts payable and adjacent areas.
• Participate in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Assist with audit preparations and documentation.
• Support special projects and process improvement initiatives.
