Job summary

The Tutoring Center at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College is recruiting a part-time tutor to support students in accounting and math. Tutors work in a fast-paced lab providing individualized assistance and enforcing center policies.

Ideal candidates hold an Associates in Accounting or related field, plus teaching or tutoring experience, strong communication, and basic computing skills. Start date is open until filled; hours vary.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with accounting coursework and related field.
• Experience teaching or tutoring in higher education or similar environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, patience, and ability to multi-task.
• Basic computing skills and ability to use a graphing calculator.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students in accounting and various levels of math.
• Occasional data entry and record-keeping, customer service, and general office duties.
• Other duties as assigned by the TC Coordinator.
