Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer - Secure Surveillance in Tempe, AZ. You will manage access control, verify credentials, and assist employees and visitors at an aerospace/defense site. The role emphasizes customer service, professionalism, and adherence to site policies.

Position Type: Part Time with a pay rate of $22.10 per hour. Schedule includes DayTime and weekend shifts. A background check and drug screen are required, with licensing as applicable.

Qualifications

• At least two years of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, process visitors and contractors, and maintain accurate entry and exit records in accordance with site requirements.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through established reporting channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, restricted areas, the business, and perimeter to help identify unauthorized activity or conditions requiring attention.
• Complete required reports, logs, and shift communications, and support Allied Universal and client procedures for the protection of personnel, property, and information.
