Job summary

Allied Universal, North America's leading security and facility services company, seeks a part-time Security Officer Access Authorization for New York, NY. You will manage site access, verify credentials, and maintain a visible security presence, delivering exceptional customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Site has limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and a rustic guard shack.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Must be at least 18 for unarmed roles and 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and utility personnel by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials for individuals and vehicles entering or exiting utility facilities, documenting visitor and contractor activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and following established escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facility entrances, perimeters, parking areas, and restricted areas to help identify unauthorized access or unusual activity.
• Maintain accurate security-related logs, reports, and access records while communicating professionally with site personnel, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership.
