Job summary

Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is seeking a Professional Tutor to support the Center for Student Success. The Tutor will assist students, provide academic support, and integrate study strategies to promote independent learning.

The role reports to the Associate Director, Center for Student Success. The position is part-time and based in Albany, NY, requiring in-person collaboration with students and staff and adherence to tutoring policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience teaching or tutoring in higher education preferred.
• Must be available for scheduled hours.

Responsibilities

• Meet with students individually or in small groups (frequency may vary).
• Provide content-based learning activities to enrich and support course content.
• Provide students with tools to assess their learning and study habits and make suggestions as needed.
• Provide students with study skill suggestions and tools to become active learners.
• Provide students with academic support in all courses in the first and second-year undergraduate curriculum pertaining to their discipline.
• Meet with Instructors to discuss tutoring and student progress as needed.
• Maintain bi-weekly time sheets.
