Advocate Health in Sherman, IL is seeking a part-time phlebotomy technician to join our Support Services team. This 2nd shift role works 20 hours per week with start times between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, including rotating weekends and at least two holidays per year.

You will verify patient identity, collect specimens, label samples, and support billing and other operations. The position requires a high school diploma and about one year of phlebotomy experience; strong computer and customer-service

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year phlebotomy experience, preferred.
• Basic computer skills including data entry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.

Mansioni

• Verifies positive patient identification to ensure patient safety.
• Performs venipuncture and collects specimens from patients of all ages.
• Ensures specimens are properly labeled and suitable for testing.
• Answers and screens telephone calls and supports billing and other functions.
• Assists with inventory and maintains supplies and equipment.
• Instructs staff in phlebotomy and data entry.
• Demonstrates care appropriate to the age of patients served.
