Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time PRN Phlebotomist for the 60495 IL ACL Laboratories - Sherman: Support Services. The role includes third-shift hours between 10:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.

with an 8.5-hour shift, and a minimum commitment of one shift per week, one weekend per month, and one holiday per year after training. Base responsibilities include specimen collection and patient identification, with strict labeling and QA procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year phlebotomy experience, preferred.
• Basic computer skills and keyboarding.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient identification and collects specimens per protocol.
• Performs venipuncture and collects samples from patients of all ages.
• Ensures specimens are properly labeled and suitable for testing.
• Answers calls and assists with inventory and supplies.
• Orders and verifies test requests and documents information for QA.
• Trains employees and students in phlebotomy and data entry.
• Demonstrates care appropriate to age of patients served.
