Job summary

The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Justice & Public Safety Cabinet, Department of Corrections in La Grange, KY is seeking an Offender Information Specialist I. The role handles sentence calculations for parole eligibility and maintains offender records in a correctional setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a college or university is required.
• Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Administrative, legal, paralegal, law enforcement, or offender records work experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Process open records requests.
• Work in systems such as KOMS, Court-Net, E-Warrants and SOR.
• Review inmate records for transfers.
• Schedule and maintain trips and logs.
• Work directly with the Office of the Courts and Court Officials as well as Local and State Police.
• Complete sentence calculations.
• Compile various reports.
• Respond to inquiries.
