Job summary

Horry County Government is seeking a Parks and Recreation Grounds Worker in Conway, SC. You will perform grounds maintenance, custodial duties, and operate mowers, weed eaters, blowers, and other power tools to keep facilities safe and welcoming for the public.

Responsibilities include applying chemicals with proper safety, maintaining equipment, and assisting with athletic fields and common areas; a valid SC/NC driver’s license is required and a pre-employment physical may be requested.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• South Carolina or North Carolina driver’s license is required.
• Must pass pre-employment physical and background check.
• Ability to work safely with chemicals and lawn care equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, planting and seasonal care.
• Operate mowers, weed eaters, blowers and other power tools.
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides following safety procedures.
• Maintain equipment and facilities; repaint, repair fences and fixtures as needed.
• Provide friendly, timely customer service and respond to park users.
