Job summary

Beaufort County Council is seeking a Grounds Maintenance worker to perform routine grounds care for county parks, facilities and grounds. Responsibilities include cutting grass with hand tools or power equipment, trimming trees and shrubs, unloading work trucks, setting up for events, and ensuring the work site is clean and organized.

Minimum education is a high school diploma or GED with up to one month of related experience. A valid South Carolina driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Up to 1 month of related experience required.
• Valid state driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Cut grass with hand tools or power equipment.
• Trim trees and shrubs.
• Assist with unloading of work trucks and event set-ups.
• Assist with site setup of plant materials, flower bed maintenance, lawn maintenance.
• Ensure work site staging area is clean and organized.
• Park cleanup and general restroom maintenance.
• Picks up trash and disposes of it properly.
• Clean and restock restrooms daily.
• Use installation tools according to safety policy.
• Comply with safety policies at all times.
• General repairs and tool maintenance.
• Mark sports fields.
• Performs related work as assigned.
