Job summary

The City of Richland’s Recreation Division is seeking an experienced Event Coordinator to lead planning and execution of the City’s signature events, including Winter Wonderland, Fall Carnival, National Night Out, and City Fair, while collaborating with private organizers at Richland’s parks and facilities.

Under limited supervision, you will supervise staff and volunteers and work with vendors and sponsors to ensure successful events. Some evening/weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in event planning and coordination.
• Knowledge of and passion for Richland Parks & Recreation events.
• Experience in volunteer recruitment and coordination.
• Excellent communications skills.
• Experience recruiting and maintaining sponsorships.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute City signature events (e.g., Winter Wonderland, Fall Carnival, National Night Out, City Fair).
• Coordinate with numerous private event organizers and manage events held in Richland’s parks and facilities.
• Supervise staff and volunteers, under limited supervision of supervisor/manager.
