Job summary

City of Howell is seeking a Parks and Programs Specialist to oversee daily operations of city parks, recreational programs, and seasonal facilities. You will supervise part-time staff, manage rentals at Scofield Beach Concessions and the Fire and Ice Pavilion, and support events and programming for the community.

The role requires experience in parks and recreation operations, strong communication and leadership, and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in recreation, public administration, business, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations at parks and facilities to ensure safety, cleanliness, and readiness.
• Manage concession and rental operations, including inquiries, setup, and inspections.
• Supervise and schedule part-time and seasonal staff; enforce safety guidelines.
• Plan, setup, and execute community recreation programs and events.
• Monitor budgets, track expenditures, revenues, and inventory.
• Represent division at community events and provide public information.
