Job summary

Orange County Government is seeking a Park Services Specialist I to plan, organize, and facilitate recreational programs for all ages, and prepare park facilities for public use. The role involves supervising part-time staff and volunteers, and ensuring safe, welcoming environments across Orange County Parks and Recreation facilities.

The position requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends, with no remote-work option.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and two years in Parks and Recreation; equivalence allowed.
• Valid Florida driver's license.
• CPR and First Aid certification within 12 months of hire.
• May require Aquatic License.
• May require Certified Pool and Spa Operator (CPO) certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and facilitate recreational activities for all ages.
• Prepare outdoor/indoor park facilities for public use and safety.
• Supervise and train Park Services Specialist I, interns, casual staff, and volunteers.
• Open/close park sites and prepare monthly reports.
• Schedule field trips and assist with special events.
