Job summary

City of Boulder is seeking a Parks Maintenance Worker to perform maintenance, repair, construction, and equipment operation on athletic fields, bike paths, facilities, and turf.

Under general supervision, the role includes training staff, coordinating with event promoters and vendors, and performing snow removal and safety inspections while upholding city standards and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• First Aid, CPR, AED, OSHA 10hr, CIT certifications are required or obtainable within a year.

Responsibilities

• Assists in training and performance management of staff.
• Participates in training on equipment safety, parks maintenance, and turf management.
• Collaborates with Parks field staff to address maintenance needs and emergencies.
• Oversees contracted work to ensure timely completion and quality.
• Assists with event coordination with promoters, city departments, and vendors.
• Supports Safety Program inspections and equipment maintenance.
• Performs horticultural tasks: planting, fertilizing, pruning, weed control.
• Manages turf maintenance: mowing, fertilization, aeration, irrigation.
• Reports irrigation issues to lead and irrigation division.
• Adheres to safety procedures and city policies.
• Handles maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Responds to emergencies such as tree damage and flood recovery.
• Performs snow removal duties when required.
