Job summary

OGDEN CITY CORPORATION is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to care for parks, gardens, and facilities in the Parks Area Maintenance division. The role involves irrigation work, plant bed design, turf care, and proper use of park maintenance equipment.

The position reports to the Parks Area Maintenance Supervisor and may supervise others during projects. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with a valid CDL and pesticide licensing within program timelines being required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; may be considered with alternative education.
• Experience in commercial mowing, turf care, or grounds maintenance is beneficial.
• Ability to operate a variety of park maintenance equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate park maintenance with plant needs and events.
• Assist with irrigation repairs and plant bed design, installation, and maintenance.
• Maintain parks, facilities, gardens, trails, and sports areas.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment including mowers, trimmers, and backhoes.
• Prepare safety checks and documentation; ensure public safety during activities.
