Job summary

Ogden City Government seeks a Maintenance Technician I - Forestry to perform semi-skilled tasks for planting, maintenance, removal, and delivery of services for trees and vegetation on city property. Reports to the Parks/Forestry Crew Leader with supervision from the Urban Forester.

Responsibilities include trimming, removal of hazardous trees, inventory management, and operating specialized equipment such as aerial lifts, stump grinders, and spray equipment.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of arboriculture, property maintenance, trail maintenance, or related work.
  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • An equivalent combination of the above stated work experience and education may be qualifying.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in trimming, raising, and dead wooding trees on city property.
  • Operate and maintain arborist equipment and vehicles.
  • Create work orders and manage Tree Inventory data.
  • Assist citizens through the tree nursery and educate on planting and maintenance.
  • Respond to storm damage and remove debris from areas.
