Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with coursework in recreation administration or related field.
• Five years of experience in parks or recreation, with one year supervisory/lead experience.
• Knowledge of turf management, horticulture, chemical application, irrigation and arboriculture.
• Tree arborist certification highly beneficial for parks maintenance.
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid Class C Texas driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and supervise activities of assigned district and staff.
• Oversee operations, inspection, maintenance and repairs of multiple parks or athletic facilities.
• Coordinate support of special events with other City divisions and community organizations.
• Assist with presentations to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and City Council.
• Participate in procurement, budget preparation and administration.
• Maintain records and prepare reports; answer questions and provide information to the public.
