Job summary

City of Mesquite is seeking a supervisor to oversee daily operations of park maintenance, landscaping and irrigation across city properties, including TxDOT. You will plan and supervise staff, coordinate with contractors and prepare staff reviews.

The role requires 4+ years in park maintenance with some supervisory experience; a valid driver’s license is required and a Certified Applicator license is preferred. Monday–Friday schedule with 6:30 a.m. start in Mesquite.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of progressively responsible park maintenance, landscaping, contract services or related environment experience.
• A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of landscape contractors responsible for mowing and maintenance of city properties, including TxDOT properties.
• Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review work of staff providing park maintenance, landscaping and irrigation for parks and fields.
• Supervise contractors, inspect work sites and ensure safety and compliance with specifications.
