Job summary

The City of Midlothian is seeking an experienced parks maintenance supervisor to plan and oversee maintenance for parks, fields, trails, and related facilities. You will coordinate events, manage staff, and ensure safety and compliance across all operations.

Required are four years in parks maintenance, one year in a lead role, and a valid driver’s license. CPSI certification must be obtained within one year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of four (4) years of general parks maintenance, irrigation, or landscape maintenance experience.
• One (1) year experience in a lead or supervisor position.
• Knowledge of maintenance and parks including property and equipment maintenance, best practices, proper chemical handling and storage.
• Knowledge of city and departmental practices, procedures, systems, and relevant laws/regulations.
• Ability to supervise staff and address employee relations issues fairly and equitably.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and reporting skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates maintenance support for special events, including logistics and planning with partners.
• Supervises projects, schedules staff, creates estimates, procures tools and supplies, and reports status.
• Maintains inventory and supply levels for chemicals and equipment.
• Keeps records for event layouts, inventories, and park certifications.
• Investigates accidents, graffiti, and vandalism and coordinates repairs.
• Ensures monthly safety trainings and safe operating procedures.
• Performs safety inspections of playground equipment and documents condition.
• Manages parks fleet scheduling, repairs, and mileage tracking.
• Assists with special projects and other duties as assigned.
