Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in maintenance of trails, parks, or related facilities.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Class B Colorado Commercial Driver's License within nine months of hire (or ability to obtain).
• Pre-employment drug screen, background checks, and DOT physical may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform turf maintenance: watering, mowing, weeding, trimming, aerating, renovating, and fertilizing turf.
• Maintain shrub and flower beds: planting, watering, fertilizing, weeding, and area maintenance.
• Trim and prune bushes, trees, and shrubs to ensure health and access.
• Maintain irrigation systems: adjust heads, controllers, and assist in installation and maintenance projects.
• Operate grounds maintenance equipment: mowers, blowers, tractors, loaders, and power tools; perform preventive maintenance.
• Inspect and maintain play equipment and park facilities; sand and paint surfaces; repair fixtures as needed.
• Identify and control pests; apply chemicals to trees, shrubs, and turf; monitor rodent traps.
• Remove fallen trees and debris; patrol parks and trails; report safety hazards.
• Assist in set-up and operations of county events and fair signage.
