Job summary

The Municipality of Anchorage, Parks & Recreation, seeks a Maintenance Worker to perform lawn, landscape, trails, and facility maintenance at the North Park and South Park Maintenance Shops. Shifts vary on a 4/10 schedule, with early start times and a half-hour meal period, and union referral rules apply.

Qualifications include at least 3 months of relevant experience and a valid Alaska driver’s license. The role requires compliance with E-verify, background checks, and Union Dispatch referral

Qualifications

• Three (3) months experience in lawn, landscape, trails, construction, grounds, or facility maintenance.
• Must possess a valid State of Alaska Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Winter duties: litter collection, snow/ice removal, outdoor recreational ice maintenance, track setting, trail grooming and maintenance, special event preparation and support, and general grounds cleanup and repair.
• Summer duties: Turf and irrigation maintenance, removal & cleanup of unauthorized or illegal campsites, litter collection, athletic and multiuse field maintenance, trail maintenance, park fence and barrier repairs, park shelters, amenities and equipment cleaning and repair, special event preparation and support, and general grounds and facility care.
• Other duties as assigned.
